The Birth of Shri Vallabha
It was 10th day of dark Chaitra S.Y.1535 when they arrived at dark thick jungle of Champaranya. Thus they belong to Kakarvada, Andhra Pradesh, but were settled in Hanuman Ghat, Kashi. Being the conflict with the Muslim ruler Sultan Hussain of Kashi, Delhi ruler Baholo Lodi has gathered his army and marched towards Kashi. So the people of Kashi has frightened and began to flee from Kashi. So they also thought it is not advisable to stay in Kashi at this moment. So they also moved with their relatives towards their birth place by bullock cart.
When they moved the woman Ellammaguri was pregnant. So they have thought to reach at their birth place as early as possible. But when they arrived here they saw the sun was already set and the predatory animals were roaring in the jungle. So they thought what we should do. But mean while Ellammaguri told to her husband Laxman Bhatt I got a severe pregnancy pain. So they have no other alternative except to stay here. The river Mahandi was flowing near by the road and there was a Shammi tree near it. So they draw away their bullock cart under a Shammi tree and made their camp there.
There after Ellammaguri moved ahead and cleared some place under one corner of a Shammi tree. There suddenly she had a miscarriage. She delivered a child who was not fully developed. She saw towards him for a moment. But the child was neither move nor makes any noise. She waited there for some time. But at last she confirmed I delivered a dead child. She grieved very much. But she has no other alternative except to accept the fact. She tore a small piece from her wore sari and wrapped the child in it. There was a burrow under a tree. She collected the dry leaves and placed them in to a burrow. Then she placed the child on it and covered him with more leaves. Then she approached her husband Laxman Bhatt and cried abundantly. Said, ‘Every thing goes mournfully.’
Laxman Bhatt tried to give her consolation. But he himself was break down by heart. He thought what we have not done for him. What we have not done to bring the divine child on earth. In our house. We have made 100 Somyagnas. My fore fathers have completed 95 and I my self have made 5 to complete 100. And what the divine had said in dream. I will manifest in your house. I will come soon in your house. Keep this uparna, basil garland, janma ghunti - prasadi and a basil rosary with you. When I come cover me with this uparana and put a basil garland round my neck. You have to give me this prasadi – janma ghunti and have to keep this rosary for my future. But what happened? Why he has done so? But they have no other alternative except to accept the fact. They gathered their courage and reached where the bullock cart was parked. They thought it is not advisable to stay in this terrible jungle at night. So they thought to move ahead putting faith in God.
When they moved ahead the village Chauda Nagar came in the way. Suddenly Laxman Bhatt thought. This is the village of my disciple Krishnadas. So he liked to go there. When they reached there Krishnadas and his family suddenly surprised. They pleased as never before and gave them warm welcome. They made an arrangement for them to stay there at their home. All were exhausted from the hard journey and sad occurrence. So they immediately went to sleep. Suddenly they have got a dream. The divine said, ‘I already manifested. Don’t leave me alone and go away. Come back and take me.’ Suddenly Laxman Bhatt arose from a dream and awakened his wife Ellammaguri. Told her the good news. Suddenly the waves of enthusiasm spread in their veins and they turned towards the jungle where the child was left last night.
When they reached there they saw an ‘agnikund’. Forty feet long and very dip! In the midst of fire the supernatural child, say a divine, covered in a torn sari was making instinctive noise wearing his hands and feet. They suddenly surprised and saw towards him for a moment.
After a moment Ellammaguri said to Laxman Bhatt, ‘Look! This is my son. The milk is begun to flow in my breast!!!’
Laxman Bhatt suddenly smiled. Say laughed. Said, ‘If he is your son fire will give you a way!’
She suddenly smiled and ran towards him. The fire began to give her way. After a moment she took him in to her bosom and pleased as never before.
After a moment she said, ‘There is an uparana, basil garland, janma ghunti – prasadi and basil rosary in my pocket which the divine had given you in the dream when you have completed the 100th Somyagna. When you have awaken these all were with you. You have given it to me to keep it with great care. So I always kept it with great care where ever I went. These are all here in my pocket, in my bag. Please go there and take it for this divine child.’
Suddenly Laxman Bhatt went to a bullock cart and opened her bag. There was a pocket in it. He took it to her and said, ‘Now what shall we do? Jata Karma.’
She suddenly pleased. Then they moved towards the bank of river Mahandi and cleared the place. They took him in to their lap and began to recite the Vedic Mantras. Then they covered him with the Uparana they have received through the dream. They put Basil garland round his neck. They mixed the Prasadi - a Janma Ghunti with the beetle leaf to make it for chew and gave him. Suddenly the child began to chew it with great pleasure.
There was no end of their pleasure.
After a moment they looked towards him and began to think. The child is looked like lord Krishna. A long long years ago when Krishna was manifested, he was just like him. But they couldn’t say any thing.
After a moment Laxman Bhatt said, ‘I have never seen such signs on any body except lord Krishna.’
Ellammaguri suddenly laughed. Say she liked to laugh. She said, ‘Have you been there at that moment!!!? He was born in Dwapar, long long years ago!’
He suddenly laughed. Said, ‘Not so. But see towards him. He doesn’t look like him. It’s true we were not there at that moment but what people had said about him can be wrong. I haven’t seen him but I have read him in books. His color was cloudy. He was bourn healing. His eyes were wide and beautiful and… Don’t you think our child has almost the same signs? He looks handsome just like him. His eyes are also just like him. His forehead is broad and bright. His nose is long and pointed. His face looks like a moon. His feet consisted with the signs of bolt, lotus, conch, wheel, mace, goad, flag, bow, java and pot. Don’t you think these all signs are auspicious? No ordinary child can have. And see his arms are also long...’
She suddenly laughed. But said nothing.
After a moment she said, ‘And if it so he will work as lord Krishna. We will have a proud being the parents of him. But now say what you have thought to do. Shall we go towards our birth place to do his naming ceremony?’
His disciple Krishnadas was present there. He said, ‘Maharaj, when you already came here why you don’t want to make my home sacred! I will arrange each and every thing for his naming ceremony.’
Laxman Bhatt didn’t like to deny his disciple’s intense request. He said, ‘We will not disappoint you.’
And thus they moved towards the village of Krishnadas, Chauda Nagar. When they reached there they sent the news of new born child to their friends and relatives. Then they called their brother and nearest relatives to present their selves at Chauda Nagar to perform the naming ceremony of the child.
When they came they performed the naming ceremony.
When the naming ceremony was performed one man has proposed his name Krishna Prasad as he looks like lord Krishna. But very next moment some other said as he is born in Chaitra he should be given a name of Janardana. Mean while one said. Looking towards his constellation he should be given a name Sravita. But Laxman Bhatt was not pleased. He thought. The child is pleasing one. So he should be given Vallabha. Vallabha means a darling child. So he confirmed as Vallabha.
After completion of naming ceremony Laxman Bhatt thought to move towards his birth place Kakarvada, Andhra Pradesh, South India. But mean while he received the news of release of Sultan Hussaien of Kashi by the grace of Delhi Sultan and again the peace had come over to Kashi. So he preferred to return Kashi.
